Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hakim Hamsho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamsho's entrance music is Jump Around. A fine choice. Hakim Hamsho has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hakim Hamsho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Max! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Max on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Hamsho throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Max tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Max stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hamsho. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Max throws a head kick that misses. Max falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hamsho counters with an inside leg kick. Max looks gassed! Hamsho comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hamsho jabs at Max's body. Max throws a hook to the side of Hamsho's head but Hamsho sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. James Max seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hamsho closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hamsho lands in his opponent's guard. Hamsho throws a big right hand that misses. Hamsho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Max is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamsho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Max swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hamsho not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hamsho wants to pass the guard but Max is keeping the position. Hamsho landing some decent shots from guard. Hamsho wants to control from the top but Max keeps moving. Hamsho throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hamsho not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Max trying to keep a closed guard but Hamsho is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hamsho wants to control from the top but Max keeps moving. Hamsho prevents Max from getting back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hamsho cracks Max with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hamsho is looking to wear down Max with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Hamsho ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Hamsho lands a nice shot to the body.
Max takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Max gets caught flat footed, as Hamsho shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Max looking for a sweep. Not yet Max, not yet. Hamsho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hamsho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hamsho showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Max throws a head kick that misses and Hamsho counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Max throws a combination that misses and Hamsho counters with a thumping low kick. Hamsho throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Max takes one to the chin there. Hamsho connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hamsho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Hamsho lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Max is rocked! Hamsho lands a right hook to the body.
Hamsho lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Max takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Max swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hamsho counters with a single leg into guard. Max didn't expect that. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hamsho loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Max wants to control but Hamsho passes easily into half guard.
Hamsho content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hakim Hamsho dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hamsho swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Good exchange - Hamsho coming out on top. Max darts in trying to clinch and Hamsho counters with a good, hard body kick but Max shrugs it off. Max misses with an uppercut. Hamsho saw that one coming. Max works over Hamsho's head and body with a nice combination. Max clinches but Hamsho breaks the clinch and Hamsho connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hamsho scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hamsho is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Max can do to turn this around? Max tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hamsho looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Max is trying to stand up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamsho scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Max?
Max is in a horrible position here. Hamsho smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Max is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hamsho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Max is looking to escape. Hamsho goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Max turns into him and now he's in Hamsho's guard.
Max with a nice head shot there. Hamsho wants to stand up but Max is controlling him. Max scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Max preventing the sweep. Hamsho avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Max postures up in Hamsho's guard and throws a big left but Hamsho blocks it. Max in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Max really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamsho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hamsho is on top in guard.
Max not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hamsho trying to control but Max is working from the bottom. Max is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Max can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hamsho controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hamsho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hamsho has gone for a leg lock! Max slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hamsho's guard. Max trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Max working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hamsho will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hamsho has Max pulled in close to control his posture. Max stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Hamsho has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Max manages to get his head free but now Hamsho has transitioned to an armbar! Max grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Hamsho! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
