Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between prle vidic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Thorne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan Thorne is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, prle vidic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evan Thorne!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but vidic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thorne throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Thorne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Thorne jumps guard but vidic stands there with Thorne around his waist. Thorne gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Thorne manages to break the clinch.
vidic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Thorne fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
vidic avoids the head kick by Thorne.
vidic slaps away a takedown attempt from Thorne, before circling back to the center of the mat.
prle vidic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evan Thorne.
vidic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and vidic counters with a shoot takedown. Thorne fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thorne has a closed guard, preventing vidic from standing up.

vidic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thorne is keeping the position for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Thorne tries to clinch but fails miserably
and vidic counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thorne can do anything to dispel that myth.

vidic with a flurry of punches that miss.
Thorne is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and vidic defends well.
Thorne looks gassed!
vidic stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Thorne is looking to clinch but vidic is avoiding it.
Thorne tries to clinch but vidic moves out of range.
vidic avoids the head kick by Thorne.
vidic walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
vidic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
vidic moves into full mount! Thorne won't be happy about that!
vidic is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Thorne can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
vidic trying to control but Thorne is having none of it.
Thorne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with vidic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thorne is looking to improve his position but vidic isn't that keen on the idea.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
vidic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Thorne is looking to escape.

vidic looking to control but Thorne is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

vidic has managed to clinch.
Thorne goes for a takedown attempt but vidic pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
vidic tries to clinch up but Thorne circles away and keeps his distance.
Thorne forces vidic back against the cage and clinches.
Thorne is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
vidic looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

vidic gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thorne.
vidic jumps guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now vidic is on top in guard.
vidic is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Thorne is breathing heavily.

vidic wants to control from the top but Thorne keeps moving.
Thorne preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

vidic thows a big elbow that misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
vidic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thorne works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
vidic stands and throws Thorne's legs to the side, diving into side control.
vidic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thorne, who protects the arm well.
Thorne is not content to let vidic control the position.

vidic misses with the ground and pound.
vidic is looking to take a break and control but Thorne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
vidic in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Thorne is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
