Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Regan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hamtail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamtail has chosen hammer time as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Regan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Hamtail! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Regan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hamtail is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Regan is taking a breather. Hamtail says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hamtail is trying to maintain the position but Regan is very close to passing his half guard. Hamtail is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hamtail trying to control from the bottom.
Regan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Regan is taking a breather. Hamtail says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Regan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Regan throws a body punch but Hamtail moves out of range. Regan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hamtail manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Regan trying to control but Hamtail is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamtail trying to control the position.

Regan sitting in guard, not really doing much. Regan looking to pass the guard. Hamtail wants to stand and escape but Regan is having none of it. Regan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hamtail utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hamtail is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Regan controlling from the top position. Hamtail wants to stand but Regan is controlling the position. Hamtail pulls Regan in close to prevent any damage. Hamtail keeping moving, preventing Regan from controlling successfully. Hamtail controlling Regan's posture.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hamtail closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Regan is trying to stand up here but Hamtail is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamtail prevents Regan from improving his position. Hamtail looks to land a strike but Regan avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Hamtail loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Regan controls Hamtail momentarily but Hamtail frees himself. Hamtail working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hamtail pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Regan is keeping the position for now. Hamtail loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Regan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hamtail postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hamtail throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Regan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hamtail's guard. Regan postures up.
Regan wants to control from the top but Hamtail keeps moving. Regan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamtail is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hamtail has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Regan with a flurry of punches that miss. Hamtail avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Regan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Regan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Regan tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hamtail counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Regan's guard now. Regan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hamtail is controlling him. Hamtail working some strikes from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hamtail is looking to work some ground and pound but Regan has wrist control. Regan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Regan keeping full guard, as Hamtail tries to pass. Hamtail postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hamtail trying to control the position from guard on top but Regan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hamtail tries to free his leg and advance position but Regan is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Regan pushes Hamtail off and gets back to his feet.
Hamtail gets caught flat footed, as Regan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hamtail trying to control the position here. Regan slips nicely into half guard. Hamtail wants to get back to full guard. Regan controlling the pace. Regan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hamtail defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Regan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Regan wants to take a breather but Hamtail is having none of it. Hamtail holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hamtail is trying to control but can't.
Regan performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Regan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Regan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hamtail trying to hold on to Regan's head to control him but Regan postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Matt Hamtail will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Hamtail stands and throws Regan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamtail throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Regan works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Hamtail is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Hamtail throws some wild stikes that Regan manages to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Regan holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hamtail tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Regan can't escape the position.
Hamtail is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Regan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hamtail sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Hamtail thowing shots but they're missing. Hamtail thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Regan is desperately trying to improve his position but Hamtail has a good base and remains in mount. Hamtail throwing strikes but Regan recovers to half guard. A much better position. Hamtail thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Regan's head. Regan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hamtail is looking to clinch but Regan is avoiding it.
Regan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Regan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hamtail counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hamtail. Hamtail lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamtail working the head and body with strikes. Hamtail not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hamtail throws a strike but Regan avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Hamtail working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hamtail wants to control from the top but Regan keeps moving. Regan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hamtail. Hamtail trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Regan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamtail is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Hamtail comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hamtail has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
