Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Hendoson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendoson throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Hendoson misses the shot to the body.
Some wild striking there from Johnson.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Hendoson avoids them all with ease.
Hendoson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hendoson misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Hendoson.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hendoson is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hendoson wants to get back to full guard.

Johnson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hendoson to stand up.
Johnson swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Hendoson counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.
Hendoson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hendoson wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Johnson pushes Hendoson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Hendoson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Hendoson isn't so interested in that idea.

Johnson scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Dan Hendoson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Hendoson closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson wants to break free but Hendoson has control.

Hendoson jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Johnson lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson gets to his feet - Hendoson follows without any prompting.
Hendoson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hendoson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Johnson's guard now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hendoson throws and elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hendoson's guard. Nice move by Johnson!
Ray Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dan Hendoson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Johnson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
