Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slava Zhigulin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaime Guttierez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slava Zhigulin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jaime Guttierez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guttierez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zhigulin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Guttierez controlling from side mount.

Guttierez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jaime Guttierez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guttierez tries a head kick but it misses.
Zhigulin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zhigulin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Guttierez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Zhigulin's guard now.
Zhigulin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Guttierez is stalling in the full guard.

Guttierez passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Zhigulin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Guttierez is staying tight to Zhigulin's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Guttierez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zhigulin looks a forlorn figure.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Guttierez wants to finish this one by submission but Zhigulin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Guttierez.
Zhigulin tries to reverse the position but Guttierez maintains control.

Guttierez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zhigulin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guttierez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zhigulin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Guttierez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jaime Guttierez just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Guttierez shoots and misses
and Zhigulin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Guttierez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Zhigulin closes the distance but Guttierez moves to the side

and Guttierez moves into the clinch.
Zhigulin wants to stall.
Zhigulin jumps guard but Guttierez stands there with Zhigulin around his waist. Zhigulin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Zhigulin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Guttierez gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Guttierez stops Zhigulin from standing up.
Guttierez stands and throws Zhigulin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jaime Guttierez has got the better of the ground game so far.

Zhigulin is looking to regain half guard here but Guttierez keeps moving and retains side control.

Guttierez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Zhigulin's shoulder. That is not cool.
Guttierez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jaime Guttierez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Zhigulin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Guttierez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Guttierez happy to just control the position for now.

Guttierez has picked Zhigulin up - he's going for a ride! Guttierez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Well, if Guttierez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Guttierez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Zhigulin wants to get back to his feet.
Guttierez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Zhigulin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guttierez on the ground.
Guttierez takes Zhigulin's back.

I would not like to be Zhigulin right now.
Zhigulin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Guttierez gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Guttierez controlling the positon.

Guttierez lands shots from the back.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Guttierez scores with punches and elbows.
Guttierez has good solid back control here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Guttierez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Guttierez lands in his opponent's guard.
Jaime Guttierez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Guttierez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
