2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nicolas Refn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Joseph! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joseph moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Joseph avoids a punch combination nicely.
Joseph connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Refn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Refn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Refn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Joseph circles away quickly and effectively. Refn throws a right and a left that Joseph avoids nicely. Refn scores with a jab to the jaw. Nicolas Refn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Joseph gets in close and instigates a clinch. Joseph on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Joseph creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Joseph tightens his grip and picks Refn up, before dumping him to the ground. Refn manages to land in guard. Refn wants to stand up but Joseph is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Refn tries to escape but Joseph is in control. Refn tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Joseph biding his time, looking for the opening.
Joseph is persistently looking for the submission but Refn is defending it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Refn's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Joseph lands with a kick to the ribs.

Refn cracks Joseph with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Refn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Joseph counters by moving into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Joseph showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Joseph trying to control the position from guard on top but Refn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Refn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Refn wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Joseph manages to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Joseph controlling the action here. Joseph's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Joseph trying to pass the guard but Refn defending well. Joseph has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Refn trying to get back to full guard but Joseph takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Still in half guard, Joseph seems content to control. Joseph is trying to control the action in half guard but Refn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Joseph controlling the action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Despite being in the dominant position, William Joseph just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joseph throws a right and a left that Refn avoids nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! William Joseph comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Joseph has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
