Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Beckham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Benjamin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benjamin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Benjamin tries to score with a low kick but Beckham moves his leg out of the way. Benjamin cracks Beckham with a big right hand and Beckham goes down!
It looks like David Beckham has been cut. Beckham has Benjamin pulled in close to control his posture. Beckham working a defensive guard here.
Benjamin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beckham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Beckham has his foot on Benjamin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benjamin works his way back into a safe position though. Beckham is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Benjamin distracts Beckham with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Beckham is rocked! Beckham wants to get back to his feet but Benjamin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Beckham avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Benjamin tries to stand but Beckham is controlling from the bottom. Beckham is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Beckham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Benjamin manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beckham trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Benjamin is working an open guard so Beckham takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A punch combination from Beckham misses. Benjamin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Beckham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Beckham is breathing heavily. Beckham bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Beckham looks for the body kick but Benjamin saw that one coming. Beckham tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Beckham. That's going to slow Benjamin down. Beckham throws a push kick but Benjamin slaps the foot to one side. Beckham scores with a leg kick.
Jay Benjamin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benjamin moves out of range of the body kick. BOOM! Benjamin lands a beautiful left hook that drops Beckham. Beckham tries to recover but Benjamin is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Beckham lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
