Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Popeye Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauricio Shogun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Popeye Man!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man throws a nice looking combination but Shogun bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Popeye Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shogun shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Man manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shogun trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.
Man utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Man not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shogun trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Man wants to sweep but no luck.
Man is trying to control the position but Shogun postures up.
Shogun preventing the sweep.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Shogun gets a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Man wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Man jumps guard and drags Shogun to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Man looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Man wants to get back to his feet but Shogun passes into half guard.
Shogun will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shogun controlling the action here.
Man wants to control but Shogun is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Man looking for submissions off his back.
Shogun frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Man really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shogun. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shogun raining down shots from the mount!
Shogun scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Man?
Shogun sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Man wants to control but Shogun is having none of it.
Shogun content just to control the position here.
Man tries to reverse the position but Shogun maintains control.

Shogun throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Man has his hands clasped together but Shogun breaks the hold and Man is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Shogun!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mauricio Shogun!
