Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Hamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Isaac Hamm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Chavez!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamm decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Chavez is not content to let Hamm control the position.
Hamm not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Hamm is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hamm is looking for a kimura but Chavez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hamm to get the leverage.
Hamm working Chavez over with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hamm sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chavez defending well though.

Hamm decides to stand and escape the position.
Chavez with a poor takedown

and Hamm counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hamm postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chavez is on top in guard.
Chavez tries to stand but Hamm is controlling from the bottom.
Hamm throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hamm looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hamm keeping moving, preventing Chavez from controlling successfully.

Hamm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chavez defends well.

Hamm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chavez defends it easily.
Hamm is breathing heavily.
Chavez trying to control but Hamm is working from the bottom.
Hamm striking off his back but it's not causing Chavez any problems.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chavez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Chavez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hamm fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hamm shoots in and bounces Chavez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Chavez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamm is one step ahead there.
Chavez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Chavez trying to keep a closed guard but Hamm is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Chavez wants to stand up but Hamm is controlling him.

Hamm wants to control from the top but Chavez keeps moving.

Chavez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hamm in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hamm wants to control from the top but Chavez keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Chavez tries to clinch up.
Chavez misses with a takedown attempt

and Hamm counters with a single leg into guard. Chavez didn't expect that.
Hamm throws a big right hand that misses.
Hamm distracts Chavez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Chavez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hamm gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hamm pushes down on Chavez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hamm wants to take a breather but Chavez is having none of it.
Chavez wants to control but Hamm is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hamm sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chavez defending well though.
Hamm thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Chavez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hamm.
Chavez trying to control from the bottom.
Hamm wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chavez keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chavez misses with a wild combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Isaac Hamm dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hamm scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hamm tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chavez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hamm throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Nice strikes from Hamm there.
Hamm seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chavez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hamm seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Chavez has recovered full guard.
Hamm wants to pass the guard but Chavez is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chavez trying to keep a closed guard but Hamm is proving a slippery customer.
Hamm in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Hamm wants to control from the top but Chavez keeps moving.
Chavez wants to get back to his feet but Hamm is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hamm throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chavez was covering up waiting for the punch and Hamm finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Chavez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hamm tries to reverse the position but Chavez maintains control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chavez tries to control but Hamm wriggling away.
Hamm is looking to get to half guard.
Chavez wants to control the pace but Hamm is squirming around nicely.
Hamm keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Chavez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hamm is looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hamm is looking to improve his position but Chavez isn't that keen on the idea.
Chavez fails to take his opponent's back.
Chavez throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hamm because Chavez loaded up on that one.
Hamm swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Chavez working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hamm turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Chavez off and cradles Hamm's limp body as Chavez celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Julio Chavez!
