The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canuto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Canuto lands in his opponent's guard.
Canuto drops back, looking for a kneebar! C minotauro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. C minotauro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from C minotauro!
Canuto is trying to get back to half guard.
C minotauro wants to stand but Canuto is controlling his arm.
C minotauro is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
C minotauro decides to stand up, so the ref orders Canuto to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Canuto has hold of C minotauro's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and C minotauro manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Canuto is breathing heavily.

You get the feeling that C minotauro really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Canuto goes for an armbar but he's not got it… C minotauro turns into him and now he's in Canuto's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Canuto is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but C minotauro frees his head nicely. Oh but Canuto has switched to an armbar! C minotauro is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
