Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Domenic Amato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tane Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amato comes into the arena with Gonna Fly Now blaring out of the sound system. Thompson has chosen it was over as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amato misses with a hook. Thompson ducked under it nicely.
Amato scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Thompson throws a head kick but Amato moves out of range.
Thompson darts in and clinches Amato up against the cage.

Amato has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Thompson regains guard immediately.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Amato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thompson but Thompson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Thompson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Amato slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
A lazy left from Thompson finds it's target.
Thompson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thompson swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Amato counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Thompson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Thompson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheers as Thompson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Amato doesn't seem phased though.

Thompson drops his hands momentarily and Amato takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Thompson walks into a straight right hand from Amato.
Thompson throws a sloppy head kick and Amato moves out of range easily.

Thompson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Amato's calf.
Thompson connects with a body shot.
Thompson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Amato is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Thompson throws a head kick but Amato moves out of range.
Amato closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thompson to the mat! Thompson manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Amato defends it easily.

Thompson has instead reached around Amato's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thompson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
