Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sero Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doc Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim's entrance music is CANON in D Korean Version (with gayageum) . A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doc Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Patterson does no damage.
Kim keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kim throws a leg kick that misses.
Kim lunges at Patterson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Patterson's hand.
Patterson swings for the body but Kim moves out of range.
Patterson works Kim's body with a nice hook.
Kim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Patterson checks the leg kick.
Kim takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Patterson.
A shot to the body from Kim misses
and Patterson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kim tries to clinch up.
Kim throws a head kick but Patterson moves out of range.
Patterson misses with a looping right.
A head kick misses from Kim.

and Kim counters with a head kick. That will keep Patterson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Patterson throws a shot from downtown. Kim moves away and avoids it.

and Kim counters with a nice leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doc Patterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Patterson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Patterson lands with a nice combination. Kim backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Sero Kim has been cut.
Kim is breathing heavily.
Patterson swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim.
Patterson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kim walks into a stiff left hand from Patterson.
Kim throws a sloppy head kick and Patterson moves out of range easily.
Patterson connects with a body shot.
Patterson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Patterson cracks Kim with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kim throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Patterson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kim won't be happy with that.

Patterson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kim knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Patterson trying to control the position but Kim is working away.
Kim tries to bench press Patterson off him but Patterson keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Kim's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kim gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kim wants to control but Patterson is keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doc Patterson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sero Kim's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A punch combination from Kim misses.
Kim takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kim lands with a thumping leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Kim checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Patterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.
Kim takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kim uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Patterson.
Nice defenses there by Kim.
Patterson misses the shot to the body.
Kim misses with a wild body shot.
Kim throws a lazy head kick
and Patterson counters with a nice uppercut.
Kim motions for Patterson to come forward. Kim throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Kim moves out of range of the body kick from Patterson.
Patterson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kim.
Kim walks into a jab.
Patterson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Patterson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Patterson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kim counters with a good low kick that Patterson was not able to check.
Kim blocks a head kick by Patterson.
Patterson avoids a kick to the body.

Patterson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kim is working hard here to advance position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kim holds on and takes a little breather.

Patterson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kim is trying to keep Patterson in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doc Patterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Patterson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kim just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kim's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sero Kim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Patterson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kim checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Kim walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Patterson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Patterson.
Sero Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doc Patterson.
Patterson throws a series of punches but Kim moves out of range.
Kim uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Patterson.
Patterson throws a sloppy head kick and Kim moves out of range easily.
Patterson blocks a low kick nicely.
Kim takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Patterson misses with a hook. Kim ducked under it nicely.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Patterson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kim throws a sloppy head kick
and Patterson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patterson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Patterson moves out of range as Kim strikes.
A telegraphed right hand from Patterson misses the target.

Patterson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kim has time to react.
Kim lands a head kick. Patterson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Patterson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kim's hands.
Patterson throws a good cross that connects.
Kim looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Patterson throws a lazy right hand but Kim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Patterson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kim!

Kim tries to hold on but Patterson postures up.
Patterson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Sero Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kim is trying desperately to improve position.
Doc Patterson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Patterson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Patterson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

And that's the end of the fight!
Doc Patterson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Patterson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
