Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dale Bellido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryck Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patryck Mendes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dale Bellido! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patryck Mendes! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes throws a sloppy head kick and Bellido moves out of range easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bellido. Bellido working away. Bellido blocks the strikes from Mendes.
Mendes is looking to regain half guard here but Bellido keeps moving and retains side control. Bellido scoring with punches from side control. Mendes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bellido off and has taken his back! Bellido is trying to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Mendes is trying to control but Bellido is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Bellido wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mendes.
Mendes goes for an armbar but Bellido turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bellido. Bellido is pushing down on Mendes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mendes is fighting to maintain full guard but Bellido has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bellido winds up and cracks Mendes with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mendes looks gassed! Bellido slips a nice elbow through Mendes's hands, connecting with Mendes's forehead. Bellido is thwarting Mendes's attempts to control the position. Bellido stalling. Bellido has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bellido has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendes is trying to control but Bellido passes into side control!
Bellido remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Bellido has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mendes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bellido controlling the pace for now.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Dale Bellido just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Bellido throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mendes was covering up waiting for the punch and Bellido finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mendes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bellido is controlling him. Bellido is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dale Bellido dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bellido drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bellido showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bellido pushing down on Mendes's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bellido controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendes wants to get back to his feet.
Bellido takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mendes is breathing heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dale Bellido just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Mendes fails with the takedown and Bellido counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bellido. Bellido stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellido bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bellido staying calm. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bellido's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Dale Bellido overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bellido is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mendes is trying to escape and Bellido transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mendes is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bellido! Very nice indeed!
