Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between shogun o (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuuji Hanamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, shogun o!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuuji Hanamoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
o tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hanamoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hanamoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hanamoto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

o escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanamoto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
o tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
o tries to clinch there but Hanamoto circles away.

Hanamoto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming o to the mat! o manages to get full guard.

o is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hanamoto is aware though and is defending well.
Hanamoto is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
o pulls Hanamoto in close to prevent any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanamoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

o pushes Hanamoto off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hanamoto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. o is trying to defend but Hanamoto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

o is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
o is trying to maintain the position but Hanamoto is very close to passing his half guard.
Hanamoto seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hanamoto drops an elbow to the side of o's head.
Hanamoto slips a nice elbow through o's hands, connecting with o's forehead.
Hanamoto working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hanamoto feints and as o raises his hands in defense, Hanamoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hanamoto takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hanamoto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Let's hope that Hanamoto has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hanamoto makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hanamoto throws a big right hand that misses.
o utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hanamoto is looking to advance position but o won't allow it.

Hanamoto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but o does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

o wants to get back to full guard but Hanamoto has passed into side control.
Hanamoto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. o can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
o tries to hold on but Hanamoto pushes him away.

It looks like shogun o has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
