Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Bulpin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Robinson! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bulpin feints and as Robinson raises his hands in defense, Bulpin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Robinson wants to sweep but no luck. Bulpin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Robinson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Robinson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Robinson scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Robinson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bulpin gets back to half guard. Robinson prevents Bulpin from improving his position. Bulpin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though. Bulpin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Robinson is trying to control the action in half guard but Bulpin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bulpin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Robinson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bulpin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Robinson circles away. Robinson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bulpin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bulpin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Bulpin tries to get to full guard but Robinson has control of the leg. Robinson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bulpin looking for submissions off his back. Bulpin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Robinson scores with a couple of nice shots. Bulpin looking for submissions off his back. Bulpin is breathing heavily. Bulpin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robinson works his foot free and advances to mount. Robinson lands a heavy elbow. Bulpin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bulpin is looking to improve his position but Robinson isn't that keen on the idea. Bulpin tries to lock up and control but Robinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Robinson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Robinson wants to control the pace but Bulpin is squirming around nicely. Bulpin is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Robinson landing strikes from the mount. Robinson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bulpin can't escape the position.
Robinson get's back to his feet. Robinson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bulpin counters with a takedown into side control. Robinson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bulpin connects with a decent elbow. Bulpin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Robinson is looking to regain half guard here but Bulpin keeps moving and retains side control. Bulpin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bulpin tries to advance to mount but can't. Robinson pushes Bulpin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bulpin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Bulpin tries to move to mount but Robinson blocks the move with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robinson tries to buck Bulpin off but Bulpin is having none of it. Bulpin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robinson keeps working.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bulpin darts in and clinches Robinson up against the cage. Robinson decides to pull guard. Bulpin wants to pass the guard but Robinson is keeping the position. Bulpin is looking to work some ground and pound but Robinson has wrist control. Bulpin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Robinson's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bulpin prevents Robinson from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bulpin connects with a nice short shot to Robinson's temple. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Robinson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Robinson is in trouble now - Bulpin has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Bulpin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That's one minute gone in the round. Robinson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bulpin, up you get! Joe Bulpin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Robinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bulpin pinned against the cage. Bulpin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Joe Bulpin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Robinson. Bulpin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Robinson counters by moving into the clinch. Bulpin breaks the clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Robinson. Robinson is looking to take a break and control but Bulpin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bulpin trying to control but Robinson flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Robinson lands strikes to the head. Robinson looking for the RNC. Bulpin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bulpin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Robinson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bulpin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bulpin tries to roll over but Robinson keeps him under control. Bulpin wants to sweep but Robinson has passed to side control! Robinson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bulpin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Robinson wants to hold on but Bulpin pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bulpin dominating with strikes here. Bulpin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Robinson is on top in guard.
Robinson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Joe Bulpin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bulpin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bulpin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bulpin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bulpin stands and throws Robinson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Bulpin tries for a kimura but Robinson is defending well. Robinson wants to control but Bulpin postures up. Bulpin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robinson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Robinson clinches with his opponent.
Bulpin has hold of one of Robinson's legs. Robinson is fighting the takedown attempt but Bulpin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bulpin connects with a couple of short punches. Bulpin tries to free his leg and advance position but Robinson is retaining full guard. Robinson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bulpin manages to get himself to full guard.
Robinson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Bulpin with a poor takedown and Robinson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Robinson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bulpin is looking to sweep but instead, Robinson has passed into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bulpin is trying to escape the mount.

Sam Robinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Bulpin tries to clinch but fails miserably and Robinson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bulpin tries to roll over but Robinson keeps him under control. Bulpin looking for subs from the bottom but Robinson mounts him! Bulpin is in all sorts of trouble here.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Robinson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Bulpin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bulpin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bulpin tries to free his leg and advance position but Robinson is retaining full guard. Bulpin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Robinson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Robinson working the head and body with strikes. Bulpin wants to control but Robinson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bulpin is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Robinson stands up and beckons Bulpin to join him on the feet. Robinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Robinson showed some decent athleticism there.

Bulpin has his foot on Robinson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robinson works his way back into a safe position though. Bulpin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bulpin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Robinson wanted to stand there but Bulpin had control of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bulpin wants to sweep but no luck. Robinson gets to his feet - Bulpin follows without any prompting. Robinson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bulpin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Robinson pulls his head out easily. Robinson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Robinson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Bulpin tries to roll over but Robinson keeps him under control. Bulpin moves into full guard.
Sam Robinson has got the better of the ground game so far. Bulpin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
