Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sukk noddz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slim Jim! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! noddz tries to bum rush Jim with a series of wild strikes but Jim uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jim closes this distance looking for a takedown but noddz circles away. noddz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
noddz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but noddz swivels and escapes. noddz throws a right hand that Jim ducks under and follows up with a left that Jim also avoids with ease. noddz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jim. Sukk noddz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Jim. noddz with a nice cross. noddz throws a right and a left that both miss. Jim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as noddz sprawls well. noddz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jim gets slowly back to his feet. noddz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. noddz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. noddz scores with a jab to the body. Sukk noddz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jim takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jim tries to score a power double leg takedown but noddz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jim somewhat. noddz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. noddz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Jim scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. noddz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jim wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jim is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. noddz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Jim gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. noddz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jim lets go of the hold and noddz can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Slim Jim!
