The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Davids as Penn shoots in.
Davids looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Penn tries for a takedown but Davids sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Dee Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Davids drives through with a takedown into guard.

Davids thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Davids drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davids jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Penn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Penn is looking to sinch up a triangle. Davids throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Penn's body to avoid the submission. Penn has instead reached around Davids's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Penn arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
