Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kael Aonghus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iggy Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kael Aonghus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Iggy Pop! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pop shoots for a takedown but Aonghus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pop shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Aonghus swats away the attempt to clinch by Pop. Nice takedown defense from Aonghus. No joy for Pop on that attempt. Kael Aonghus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iggy Pop. Pop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aonghus tries to avoid it but Pop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aonghus to the ground. Aonghus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pop is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Iggy Pop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aonghus lands a big head kick that sends Pop tumbling to the mat! Aonghus takes a step backwards and waves Pop back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Pop is rocked!
It looks like Iggy Pop has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pop avoids the head kick by Aonghus.
Pop shoots in for a double leg but Aonghus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pop blocks a head kick by Aonghus.
Aonghus moves into the clinch. Pop goes for a takedown in the clinch but Aonghus prevents it.
Pop tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pop is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Aonghus pulls him back up using the underhooks. Pop looks gassed! Pop fails to pull guard.
Pop trying to stall but Aonghus improves his position.
Pop wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Aonghus lands an elbow that stopped Pop in his tracks for a moment. Aonghus breaks from the clinch.
Aonghus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aonghus bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pop's head backwards. Aonghus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pop. Pop tries for a takedown but Aonghus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Aonghus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Aonghus breaks from the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Aonghus. No joy for Pop on that attempt. Aonghus instigates a clinch. Pop tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Aonghus manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Pop or perhaps it was just good defense by Aonghus which made him look bad. Aonghus pushes Pop up against the cage in a clinch. Aonghus breaks from the clinch.
Aonghus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Aonghus throws a right and a left that both miss. Aonghus lands a big head kick that sends Pop tumbling to the mat! Aonghus takes a step backwards and waves Pop back to his feet - he wants the finish! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Aonghus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aonghus throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Pop is still on wobbly legs! Can Aonghus finish him? Pop looks for a takedown but Aonghus sprawls well. Pop seems to have recovered his senses. Pop tries to clinch and Aonghus counters with a good low kick that Pop was not able to check. Aonghus takes the fight into the clinch. Aonghus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kael Aonghus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pop fails with the takedown and Aonghus counters with a head kick. A lazy left from Aonghus finds it's target. Pop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Aonghus counters with a head kick that drops Pop to the mat! Pop scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! Aonghus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Aonghus throws a sloppy head kick and Pop moves out of range easily. Pop feints and as Aonghus raises his hands in defense, Pop changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pop is pushing down on Aonghus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Aonghus is fighting to maintain full guard but Pop has managed to sneak the leg through. Aonghus is defending against the submission attempts here by Pop.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pop thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pop looks to land a strike but Aonghus avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Pop showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Aonghus wants to get back to his feet but Pop is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Pop slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pop passes Aonghus's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Pop is looking for a kimura but Aonghus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pop to get the leverage. Aonghus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pop on the ground. Pop is looking to take a break and control but Aonghus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pop might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Aonghus kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Pop not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pop looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Aonghus is not content to let Pop control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kael Aonghus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Iggy Pop's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Pop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Aonghus counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pop's knee momentarily. Pop darts in trying to clinch and Aonghus counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Aonghus breaks from the clinch.
Pop misses with a takedown attempt and Aonghus counters with an outside leg kick.
Aonghus lands a big head kick that sends Pop tumbling to the mat! Aonghus takes a step backwards and waves Pop back to his feet - he wants the finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pop stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Aonghus. Aonghus lands a big head kick that sends Pop to the canvas! Aonghus follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kael Aonghus!
