Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Stomi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saburo throws a chopping leg kick but Stomi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Saburo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Stomi lands with a nice body punch.
Saburo drops his hands momentarily and Stomi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Stomi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saburo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee asks Stomi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Stomi prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd cheers as Stomi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Saburo doesn't seem phased though.

Saburo throws a leg kick but Stomi sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Stomi moves into range and clinches up with Saburo.
Still in the clinch, Stomi scores with a nice short uppercut.
Stomi lands a knee to the body.

Stomi drags the fight down to the ground.
Stomi keeping moving, preventing Saburo from controlling successfully.

Stomi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stomi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Saburo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Stomi has Saburo pressed against the cage, preventing Saburo from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stomi will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Saburo up against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stomi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Stomi scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stomi turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Stomi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Saburo manages to get back to half guard.
Stomi is just content to waste time from the top position. Saburo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Stomi wants to control from the top but Saburo keeps moving.

Stomi gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Saburo regains guard.
Stomi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Saburo wants to improve his position but instead Stomi has moved into half guard.
Stomi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stomi stands up and beckons Saburo to join him on the feet.

Saburo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stomi was covering up waiting for the punch and Saburo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stomi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Saburo tries to keep at a distance but Stomi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stomi goes for a takedown attempt but Saburo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Adam Saburo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Stomi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Saburo has his foot on Stomi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stomi works his way back into a safe position though.

Saburo wants to stand and escape but Stomi is having none of it.

Saburo wants to hit a switch here but Stomi passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Saburo there!
Saburo tries to reverse the position but Stomi maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takanori Stomi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stomi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
