2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mirko Filipovic! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Filipovic lands a head kick!
Filipovic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Left hook, right uppercut from Filipovic. Hoss avoids the head kick by Filipovic.
Mirko Filipovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoss shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Filipovic as he jumps to the side. Filipovic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoss closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Filipovic working hard to break the clinch. Filipovic with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Filipovic lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Hoss fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jenkins Hoss. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hoss. A head kick misses from Filipovic. Filipovic throws a jab but it's blocked by Hoss. Hoss closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Filipovic keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Filipovic wants to get back to full guard. Hoss decides to stand up. Filipovic rushes Hoss and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Nice sprawl there from Filipovic as Hoss shoots in. Filipovic moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Filipovic lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. A head kick misses from Filipovic. Hoss pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Filipovic throws a right and a left that both miss. Filipovic throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hoss fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hoss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Filipovic tries to clinch up and Hoss counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Filipovic's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Filipovic looking for a sweep. Not yet Filipovic, not yet. Hoss drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Filipovic dives on top into guard. Filipovic wants to control from the top but Hoss keeps moving. Filipovic is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoss has wrist control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Filipovic seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoss is striking off his back. Filipovic thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jenkins Hoss will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Filipovic stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Filipovic wants it to stay on the feet. Filipovic with a poor takedown and Hoss decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Filipovic's guard. Hoss wants to control from the top but Filipovic keeps moving. Hoss wants to get up but he can't break Filipovic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Filipovic controlling Hoss's posture. Filipovic tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hoss circles away from the clinch attempt and Hoss counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Filipovic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Filipovic scores with a jab to the jaw. Hoss shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jenkins Hoss. That's going to take a lot out of him. Filipovic is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Filipovic is looking to clinch but Hoss is avoiding it.

Jenkins Hoss dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Filipovic scores with the left hand. Hoss knows he should have avoided that one. Hoss ducks right into an uppercut from Filipovic. Filipovic thuds his right hand into Hoss's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Hoss shoots for a double leg takedown but Filipovic sprawls well. He's pushed Hoss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hoss scores with a takedown into Filipovic's guard. Hoss throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hossis looking to pass into half guard but Filipovic pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Filipovic is in guard. Hoss keeping full guard, as Filipovic tries to pass. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoss pulls Filipovic in to control the position. Hoss looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Filipovic has picked Hoss up and slammed him! Hoss can't keep hold of the triangle and Filipovic manages to pass to side control! Filipovic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoss keeps working. Filipovic sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hoss is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Filipovic decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hoss to his feet. Filipovic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Filipovic might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Filipovic fails in his attempt to clinch. Hoss fails in his attempt to clinch. Filipovic moves out of range of the body kick from Hoss.

Filipovic lands with a kick to the temple. Hoss shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Filipovic lands a nice shot that snaps Hoss's head back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Filipovic lands a jab to the nose. Filipovic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hoss counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hoss. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoss accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Filipovic seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Filipovic keeping moving, preventing Hoss from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoss advances to half guard. Hoss is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Filipovic! Filipovic tries to lock up and control but Hoss gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mirko Filipovic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hoss looking to control but Filipovic is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hoss working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Jenkins Hoss showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hoss, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
