The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messenger has closed the distance and engaged Kershaw in a clinch.
Kershaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for Kershaw, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kershaw tries to clinch but Messenger moves out of range.
Messenger has a takedown stuffed.
Kershaw looks to land a right hand but Messenger moved out of range.
Kershaw throws a hook but Messenger blocks it.
Kershaw throws a series of punches but Messenger moves out of range.
Messenger slips under a jab.
Kershaw throws a nice looking combination but Messenger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Timothy Kershaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kershaw lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Messenger backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jeremiah Messenger has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kershaw stuffs the takedown attempt from Messenger. Messenger gets slowly back to his feet.
Messenger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kershaw defends it nicely.
Timothy Kershaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah Messenger.

Kershaw throws out a loose jab but Messenger uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kershaw looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kershaw misses with an uppercut. Messenger saw that one coming.
Kershaw cracks Messenger with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kershaw connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Messenger's hands.
Messenger is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Kershaw doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Messenger crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Messenger's bad books for that mishap!
