Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Latham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Latham kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches. Latham is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Latham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Latham is breathing heavily. Latham misses with a hook. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Latham's waist but Latham gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Nice takedown defense from Latham. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Latham rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Silva trying to land knees to the body.

Silva lands an elbow inside. Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Latham fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mark Latham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silva. Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Latham avoids it really well and circles away. Latham stuffs the takedown. Latham slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat. Silva shoots in and drives through. Latham sprawls well. Silva looking for a takedown. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Latham blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Silva displaying some good clinch control by pressing Latham up against the cage. Silva breaks the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Latham rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Latham tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Silva dives in and grabs Latham's left leg, looking for a takedown. Latham pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Latham lands the left hand. Latham shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Latham's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Silva fails with the takedown and Latham counters with an inside leg kick. Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Latham, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Latham against the cage but Latham circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Latham doesn't succeed with the takedown and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is working for a kimura but Latham is defending it quite comfortably.
Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Latham sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Silva throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Latham is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Latham gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Silva wants to control from the top but Latham keeps moving. Latham wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silva dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Silva lands a jab-cross combination. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Latham. Latham jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice sprawl there from Silva as Latham shoots in. Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Silva is keen to just control but Latham is a slippery customer. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Latham defends the submission attempt. Latham blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva. Latham tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Latham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Latham moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Latham shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense. Silva lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Latham. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Latham. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. Latham leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Latham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva. Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Latham keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Latham has locked up a guillotine! Latham's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Silva is holding on here and Latham must be using up a lot of energy. Silva has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Latham gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
