Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Roosevelt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soichi Noko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soichi Noko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Roosevelt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Soichi Noko!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noko tries to clinch but Roosevelt moves out of range.
Noko showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Roosevelt.
Roosevelt swats away the attempt to clinch by Noko.
Roosevelt moves in looking to clinch but Noko pushes him off.
Noko tries to clinch

and Roosevelt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Noko's guard now.
Roosevelt distracts Noko with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Roosevelt stands and steps away. Noko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Noko blocks a head kick by Roosevelt.

Roosevelt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Noko did well to prevent Roosevelt getting side control.
Roosevelt frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Noko looks gassed!
Roosevelt sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roosevelt is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Noko can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Roosevelt is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Noko has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Noko!
Roosevelt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Noko postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Noko stands up from Roosevelt's guard - Noko perhaps looking for a knockout.

Roosevelt gets a clinch.
Roosevelt blocks the elbow strike.
Roosevelt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Roosevelt manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Roosevelt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Roosevelt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Noko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Noko has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roosevelt is proving hard to escape from.
Noko thows a big elbow that misses.
Roosevelt wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Roosevelt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Noko manages to get himself to full guard.
Noko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Roosevelt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Roosevelt could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Roosevelt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Roosevelt slows the pace down.
Roosevelt scores with a couple of short elbows.
Roosevelt trying to control the position but Noko is working away.

Roosevelt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Noko has escaped the position, nice work there.

Roosevelt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Roosevelt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roosevelt tries to move into full mount but can't pass Noko's legs.
Noko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Roosevelt dominated that round.
That's time! Roosevelt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Noko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roosevelt.

and Roosevelt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Noko's guard now.

Roosevelt prevents Noko from getting back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roosevelt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Noko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roosevelt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Roosevelt swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Noko.
Soichi Noko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roosevelt throws a head kick that misses.
Roosevelt goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Roosevelt scores with a takedown into Noko's guard.

Noko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Roosevelt controls the pace.
Noko can't keep his opponent in guard - Roosevelt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Roosevelt is taking a breather. Noko says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Roosevelt decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Frank Roosevelt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Noko looks for a takedown but Roosevelt sprawls well.

Roosevelt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Noko!
Roosevelt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Roosevelt get's back to his feet.

Roosevelt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Roosevelt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Noko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Roosevelt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Noko tries to clinch up
and Roosevelt counters with a nice kick to the body.

Roosevelt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Roosevelt is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Noko has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Noko is trying to stand.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Roosevelt is looking to take a break and control but Noko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Roosevelt drops an elbow to the side of Noko's head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Roosevelt maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Noko could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Roosevelt has cracked it and Noko is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Roosevelt!
