The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Had has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Roman Had has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Had misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Had is defended easily by Soares.
Soares misses with a wild body shot.
Soares connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A shot to de liver by Soares. Beautiful body shot.
Soares lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Had tries to close the distance and clinch but Soares swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Soares connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Had tumbling to the canvas! Soares pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Had was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michel Soares!
