0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, EJ Whitten! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from San Diaz Jr. Whitten clinches. Whitten manages to pull guard.
San Diaz Jr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Whitten is proving hard to escape from. San Diaz Jr won't allow Whitten to sweep him here. Whitten keeping full guard, as San Diaz Jr tries to pass. San Diaz Jr looking to sit in guard and control but Whitten gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Whitten trying to control the position from guard on top but San Diaz Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. San Diaz Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
EJ Whitten dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
San Diaz Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Whitten to the mat! Whitten manages to get full guard. Whitten will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

San Diaz Jr slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Whitten wants to control from the top but San Diaz Jr keeps moving. San Diaz Jr keeping full guard, as Whitten tries to pass. Whitten avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Whitten lands a couple of digs. Whitten pushing down on San Diaz Jr's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Whitten is tying to control. San Diaz Jr wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Whitten wants to get back to his feet.

San Diaz Jr slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. EJ Whitten has got the better of the ground game so far. Whitten wants to control from the top but San Diaz Jr keeps moving.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. San Diaz Jr shoots and misses and Whitten counters with a single leg into guard. San Diaz Jr didn't expect that. Whitten pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. San Diaz Jr is keeping the position for now. San Diaz Jr manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
A nice elbow there by San Diaz Jr. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. San Diaz Jr wants to take Whitten's back here but Whitten is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
San Diaz Jr goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Whitten is on top in guard.
Whitten slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but EJ Whitten will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

San Diaz Jr is rocked! Whitten takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Oh San Diaz Jr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Whitten works his foot free and advances to mount. Whitten cracks San Diaz Jr with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

San Diaz Jr flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Whitten anticipates the leg and manages to get behind San Diaz Jr and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Whitten slips an arm under San Diaz Jr chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Whitten has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Whitten is squeezing on San Diaz Jr like an anaconda would it's prey. San Diaz Jr fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
