Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Izakawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin comes to the ring accompanied by Freude schöner Götter Funken. Peter Martin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnny Izakawa! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Izakawa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Martin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Izakawa keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. Martin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Izakawa dives on top into guard. Izakawa postures up in Martin's guard and throws a big left but Martin blocks it. Izakawa is working Martin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Martin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Izakawa passes into side control.
Martin misses with a strike from the bottom. Martin is trying to get back to half guard. Martin throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Martin is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Martin gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Izakawa is keen to just control but Martin is a slippery customer. Martin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Martin trying to control from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Izakawa stuffs the takedown. Martin shoots in for a takedown but Izakawa shows good takedown defense. Martin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Martin is breathing heavily. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Izakawa struggling a bit here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Izakawa is not content to let Martin control the position. Martin working away. Martin tries to move to mount but Izakawa blocks the move with his legs.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Martin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Izakawa tries to avoid it but Martin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Izakawa to the ground. Izakawa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Izakawa moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Izakawa closes the distance and pushes Martin back into the ropes. Izakawa turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin is trying to get back to half guard. Izakawa decides to stand back up. Izakawa tries for a takedown but Martin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Izakawa tries to clinch up. Izakawa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Martin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Izakawa's guard. Martin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Izakawa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Martin, into his guard. Martin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Izakawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Martin working a defensive guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Izakawa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Izakawa pushing down on Martin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ground and pound from Izakawa. Izakawa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Martin wants to get back to his feet. Izakawa is trying to control the action in half guard but Martin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Izakawa seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Martin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Izakawa pulls his head out easily. Martin looking for submissions off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Izakawa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Izakawa shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense. Izakawa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Martin moves into full guard.
Martin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Martin looking for a guillotine from mount but Izakawa is having none of it. Martin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Izakawa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Izakawa! Martin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Izakawa is aware though and is defending well. Izakawa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Izakawa working some strikes from top position. Izakawa tries to stand but Martin is controlling from the bottom. Martin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Martin tries to get out of the position. Izakawa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martin is keeping the position for now.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Martin is looking to clinch. Martin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Izakawa. Martin looks for a takedown but Izakawa sprawls well. Martin's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Martin duly obliges.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Izakawa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Izakawa stands up and we're back to a striking position. Izakawa tries a head kick but it misses.
Izakawa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Martin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Peter Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Izakawa. Izakawa is looking to improve his position.
Martin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Martin is trying to control. Izakawa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Martin scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Izakawa wants to control but Martin is keeping busy.

That was a close second round but I would say that Peter Martin will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Izakawa defends it well. Martin thows a huge punch but Izakawa dodges it nicely.

Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Izakawa looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Martin showed his dominance in that final round. I think Martin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
