Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and benji ahr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Frank Mir has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frank Mir seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ahr throws a looping overhand right but Mir ducks down to avoid it.
Mir avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mir swats away the attempt to clinch by ahr.
Horrible takedown by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by ahr which made him look bad.
ahr scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mir doesn't seem bothered though.
ahr misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
ahr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mir's guard.
Mir really is a fat lump.

ahr lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
ahr thows a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
ahr tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.

Mir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

ahr has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mir has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on ahr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mir goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, ahr has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mir but great work by ahr.
ahr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mir sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mir is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

ahr moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
ahr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mir napping and manages to drive through into side control!

ahr postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mir is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
ahr misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

ahr jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mir is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mir and ahr has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

benji ahr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

I would just about give that final round to benji ahr.
Well ahr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
