Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booger dives in and grabs Akiyama's left leg, looking for a takedown. Akiyama pushes down on Booger's head and hops out.
Booger tries a head kick but it misses.
Booger throws a sloppy head kick and Akiyama moves out of range easily.

Booger gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Booger seems to be looking for submissions.

Booger is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Akiyama is just riding it out for now. Booger eventually gives up the hold.

Akiyama tries to improve position but can't.
Booger misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Booger swings around for an armbar but Akiyama sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Booger's guard.
Booger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Booger wants to free his trapped foot but Akiyama is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Booger is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. Akiyama has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done Akiyama! He waited for his chance and took it!
