Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lassana Diarra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrice Evra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrice Evra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evra tries to clinch up but Diarra circles away and keeps his distance.
Diarra tries a head kick but it misses.

Diarra drives through and clinches with Evra against the cage.
Evra is working for takedown but Diarra is calmly controlling the position for now.
Evra blocks an uppercut.
Diarra drops down looking for an ankle pick but Evra pulls his leg out and moves away.
Diarra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Evra.

Diarra bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Evra is looking to regain half guard here but Diarra keeps moving and retains side control.
Evra sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Evra makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Evra.
Evra looks gassed!

Diarra wants to control from the top but Evra keeps moving.
Evra keeping full guard, as Diarra tries to pass.
Diarra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Diarra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Evra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diarra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Evra wants to stand but Diarra is controlling the position.
Diarra looking to sit in guard and control but Evra gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Diarra is trying to keep Evra in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diarra slips a jab and a cross from Evra.

Diarra takes the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Evra wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Diarra has him pressed against the cage.
Diarra tries to pull guard but Evra won't allow it.

Evra jumps guard.
Evra looking to control.
Evra keeping moving, preventing Diarra from controlling successfully.
Evra striking off his back but it's not causing Diarra any problems.

Diarra stands up and waves to Evra to follow him.

Diarra clinches with his opponent.
Diarra gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Evra.
Lassana Diarra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrice Evra.

Diarra has Evra pressed against the cage, preventing Evra from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Diarra tries to pull guard but Evra holds him up against the cage and eventually Diarra drops back down to his feet.

Diarra gets control of Evra's arms and successfully pulls guard. Diarra will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Evra wants to stand but Diarra is controlling his posture from full guard.
Diarra looking to hit a scissor sweep but Evra is one step ahead there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Evra prevents Diarra from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evra misses with a takedown

and Diarra counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Diarra stands up from Evra's guard - Diarra perhaps looking for a knockout.

Evra gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diarra to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Evra looking for a sweep. Not yet Evra, not yet.

Diarra stands up and waves to Evra to follow him.

Diarra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Evra was covering up waiting for the punch and Diarra finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Diarra controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Diarra has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Evra is proving hard to escape from.
Diarra trying to control but Evra is working from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diarra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Evra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diarra wants to stand but Evra has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Evra is looking to stand up but Diarra isn't so interested in that idea.
Diarra wants to control from the top but Evra keeps moving.
Evra keeping full guard, as Diarra tries to pass.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Diarra misses with a takedown

and Evra counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Evra trying to control from half guard but Diarra is working away.
Diarra is looking to improve his position.

Evra has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Diarra defend it? Evra steps over the head and cranks it - Diarra is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Evra!
