Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Phelan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Phelan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve Austin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Austin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Phelan! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Austin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Phelan tries to avoid it but Austin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Phelan to the ground. Phelan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Austin instigates a clinch. Phelan gets control of Austin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Phelan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Phelan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Phelan is looking to stand up but Austin isn't so interested in that idea. Phelan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Austin controls the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phelan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Austin's guard. Austin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Austin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Phelan has eaten all the pies! Phelan trying to control the position from guard on top but Austin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Austin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Austin tries to get out of the position. Phelan stops Austin from standing up. Austin is breathing heavily. Phelan controlling from the top position. Phelan wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Austin pulls Phelan in close to his closed guard and prevents Phelan from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Phelan trying to control but Austin is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Austin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Austin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Phelan on the ground. Phelan tries to kick Austin off but Austin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Austin stalling. Austin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Austin prevents Phelan from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Austin wants to stand but Phelan has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Phelan wants to get back to full guard. Austin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Austin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Phelan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Austin decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Austin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Phelan to the mat! Phelan manages to get full guard. Austin stops Phelan from standing up. Phelan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Austin trying to control but Phelan is working from the bottom. Phelan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Austin is controlling him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Austin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Phelan, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phelan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Austin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Phelan. Austin kicks off Phelan and gets to his feet. Phelan with a poor takedown and Austin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Austin tries to free his leg and advance position but Phelan is retaining full guard. Austin preventing the sweep. Phelan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Austin looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Austin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Austin is looking to work some ground and pound but Phelan has wrist control. Austin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Phelan has managed to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Phelan wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving. Austin pulls Phelan in to control the position. Phelan preventing the sweep. Austin looking for a guillotine here but Phelan defends easily.

A head kick misses from Austin. Austin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Phelan tries for a takedown but Austin circles away easily and Austin counters by clinching up. Phelan lands a nice shot to the body. Phelan looking for a takedown. Austin drags the fight down to the ground.
Phelan stops Austin from standing up. Phelan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Austin is working an open guard so Phelan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Phelan misses with a wild combination.

Austin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Phelan just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Phelan jumps guard but Austin stands there with Phelan around his waist. Phelan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Phelan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Austin counters with a shoot takedown. Phelan fights it but they end up in guard. Austin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Phelan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Austin tries to roll over but Phelan keeps him under control. Austin punching from the bottom.
Phelan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Austin keeps working.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Phelan tries to hold on but Austin postures up. Strange move. Phelan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Austin circles away. Austin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Austin prevents the takedown attempt.

Phelan dives in and grabs Austin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes down on Phelan's head and hops out. Phelan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Phelan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Austin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Phelan trying to keep a closed guard but Austin is proving a slippery customer.

Austin wants to clinch up but Phelan keeps it at a distance. Phelan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Austin's guard. Austin keeping moving, preventing Phelan from controlling successfully. Phelan stopping the sweep attempt from Austin. Phelan trying to control but Austin is working from the bottom. Austin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phelan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phelan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Austin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Phelan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Phelan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Steve Austin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Phelan wants to control but Austin is keeping him busy.

Austin just holding on. Austin is trying to reverse the position but instead Phelan has taken his back - oops! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Phelan gets his hands free as Austin looks to control. Austin is trying to break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Phelan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Austin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
