Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heikki Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Schnitzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heikki Mela has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Heikki Mela! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob Schnitzer! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mela tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schnitzer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schnitzer stuffs the takedown. Schnitzer fails with the takedown and Mela counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mela has gone for a leg lock! Schnitzer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mela's guard. Schnitzer is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Schnitzer stopping the sweep attempt from Mela. Schnitzer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schnitzer working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Schnitzer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mela works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Schnitzer with a flurry of punches that miss. Schnitzer thows a big elbow that misses. Mela utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mela wants to clinch up but Schnitzer keeps it at a distance. Mela looks for the body kick but Schnitzer saw that one coming. Mela misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mela has his takedown stuffed and Schnitzer counters with a shoot takedown. Mela fights it but they end up in guard. Schnitzer stands up over Mela, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mela avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Schnitzer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mela wants to stand and escape but Schnitzer is having none of it. Mela might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Schnitzer throws a big right hand that misses. Schnitzer content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schnitzer lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Schnitzer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mela works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mela working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schnitzer. Schnitzer cracks Mela with a solid left hand. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schnitzer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mela has momentary wrist control but Schnitzer slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mela is breathing heavily. Schnitzer throwing strikes from guard but Mela blocks nicely. Mela manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schnitzer manages to get himself to full guard.
Mela gets to his feet. Schnitzer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schnitzer fails with the takedown and Mela counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Schnitzer's guard now. Schnitzer is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Schnitzer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Schnitzer is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mela can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mela really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Mela is in a horrible position here. Schnitzer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Schnitzer dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Schnitzer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mela can pounce on him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Schnitzer can do anything to dispel that myth. Mela working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Schnitzer slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Schnitzer desperately trying to maintain half guard. Mela is trying to control the action in half guard but Schnitzer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mela with a lazy takedown attempt and Schnitzer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mela's guard. Mela is trying to keep Schnitzer in close.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bob Schnitzer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schnitzer is defended easily by Mela. Heikki Mela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Schnitzer. Schnitzer preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Mela is trying to control the action in half guard but Schnitzer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mela looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mela is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mela throws a right hand that Schnitzer ducks under and follows up with a left that Schnitzer also avoids with ease. Mela misses with a kick to the body.
Schnitzer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Schnitzer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mela napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mela can't do much from the bottom here. Mela is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Mela is looking for a sweep. Schnitzer working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Schnitzer lands an elbow. Schnitzer scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mela to see if he's OK. Schnitzer scores with punches from side control. Schnitzer throws an elbow but Mela slips to the side and avoids it well. Schnitzer tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Heikki Mela has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bob Schnitzer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Schnitzer lands a few punches from side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Bob Schnitzer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Schnitzer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
