Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Dickenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anze Delfino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Dickenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anze Delfino!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dickenson moves into the clinch.
Delfino fails to pull guard.
Delfino is trying to break free.
Delfino drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dickenson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Delfino plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Delfino shoots in but no luck this time.
John Dickenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anze Delfino.
Dickenson circles away from the clinch attempt

and Dickenson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Delfino's guard now.
Delfino controls Dickenson momentarily but Dickenson frees himself.
Dickenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Delfino swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Delfino trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Dickenson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dickenson wants to control from the top but Delfino keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dickenson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dickenson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dickenson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and Dickenson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Delfino's guard now.
Dickenson postures up in Delfino's guard and throws a big left but Delfino blocks it.
Delfino utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dickenson thows a big elbow that misses.
Dickenson passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dickenson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Delfino is just riding it out for now. Dickenson eventually gives up the hold.

Delfino dodges the ground and pound from Dickenson.
Delfino takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dickenson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Dickenson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Delfino's guard.
Dickenson slips nicely into half guard.

Dickenson is looking for a kimura but Delfino is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dickenson to get the leverage.

Delfino gets full guard.
Dickenson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dickenson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dickenson wants to pass the guard but Delfino is keeping the position.

Dickenson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Delfino is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dickenson, into his guard.

Delfino with a poor takedown

and Dickenson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Delfino's guard now.

Dickenson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dickenson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Delfino not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dickenson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dickenson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Delfino is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dickenson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Delfino!

Dickenson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Delfino tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Dickenson wants to finish this one by submission but Delfino is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dickenson.
Delfino wants to control but Dickenson is having none of it.

BOOM! Dickenson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
John Dickenson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dickenson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dickenson goes for an armbar but Delfino turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Delfino.
Delfino wants to control from the top but Dickenson keeps moving.
Dickenson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dickenson tries to get out of the position.

Delfino postures up in Dickenson's guard and throws a big left but Dickenson blocks it.
Delfino trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Delfino works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Delfino is keen to just control but Dickenson is a slippery customer.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Delfino not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dickenson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Delfino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Dickenson takes the fight into the clinch.
Dickenson is pushing Delfino up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Dickenson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Dickenson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Delfino is trying to control Dickenson's posture but Dickenson avoids it.

Dickenson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Delfino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Delfino struggling a bit here.

Dickenson tries for a kimura but Delfino is defending well.
Dickenson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Delfino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dickenson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
