The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Randy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nelson sprawls well. Nelson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Saint Randy gets slowly back to his feet.
Nelson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Saint Randy was covering up waiting for the punch and Nelson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saint Randy has momentary wrist control but Nelson slips an elbow through the middle.
