Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Choncho Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Choncho Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Giant! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Giant tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rodriguez swivels and escapes. Rodriguez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rodriguez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rodriguez doesn't manage to clinch there - Giant circles away.
Rodriguez with a lazy takedown attempt and Giant counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rodriguez won't be happy with that. Giant creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rodriguez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Giant postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Giant throwing strikes but Rodriguez manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Giant manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Giant wants to improve his position but Rodriguez is controlling well.
Rodriguez tries to stand and escape but Giant is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giant is looking to improve his position.
Giant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Giant missing with punches from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodriguez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Giant controls his leg. Giant wants to improve his position but Rodriguez is controlling well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Giant shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rodriguez pinned against the cage. Rodriguez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Giant shoots in and drives through. Rodriguez sprawls well. Choncho Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Giant. Rodriguez doesn't manage to clinch there - Giant circles away.
Rodriguez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Giant. Giant gets a takedown into half guard. Rodriguez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Giant.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giant throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rodriguez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Giant. Giant looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rodriguez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Giant with the ground and pound but Rodriguez uses the opportunity to regain guard. Rodriguez keeping full guard, as Giant tries to pass. Giant looking to sit in guard and control but Rodriguez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rodriguez preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Giant trying to keep a closed guard but Rodriguez is proving a slippery customer.
Giant wants to sweep but no luck. Giant seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Giant trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Rodriguez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Giant is keeping the position for now. Rodriguez is breathing heavily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Giant shoots in and bounces Rodriguez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Giant throws and elbow that misses. Rodriguez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Giant's guard. Nice move by Rodriguez! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andre Giant dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Giant shoots in for a takedown but Rodriguez shows good takedown defense. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Giant. Rodriguez misses with a few strikes there.
Giant fails to land the takedown. Choncho Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Giant. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodriguez throws a series of punches but Giant moves out of range. Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed so Giant counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giant wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving. Rodriguez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Giant postures up in Rodriguez's guard and throws a big left but Rodriguez blocks it. Giant wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving. Giant trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rodriguez wants to sweep here but Giant controlling him for the moment. Giant with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Giant scoring with some ground and pound. Giant throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rodriguez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Giant thows a big elbow that misses. Giant must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Giant wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving. Giant postures up and lands a big shot to Rodriguez's brow. Giant pushing down on Rodriguez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Giant landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Giant wants to free his trapped foot but Rodriguez is holding on for dear life with his legs. Rodriguez is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giant not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Giant trying to control from half guard but Rodriguez is working away. Giant stops Rodriguez from getting back to his feet.
Rodriguez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodriguez. Rodriguez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Giant! Giant tries to improve his position but Rodriguez has taken his back! Rodriguez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Giant tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Rodriguez Pushes Giant away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Choncho Rodriguez!
