Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pawel Popek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog has chosen Fan of Marrizle as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pawel Popek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popek misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dog closes the distance and clinches up with Popek, looking for a takedown. Dog pushes Popek against the cage but Popek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Popek slips a jab and a cross from Dog.
Dog misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Popek is defended easily by Dog.
Dog fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Popek lands a nice shot to the body.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dog feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Pawel Popek will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Crazy Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Popek jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dog walks away with a smile on his face. Popek gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Dog gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dog drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Popek gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dog bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

I would just about give that final round to Crazy Dog.
Well Dog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
