Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ghandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Ghandi!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghandi stuffs the takedown.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Simons III is looking for a kimura but Ghandi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Simons III to get the leverage.
Ghandi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ghandi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Simons III does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Matt Ghandi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ghandi is taking a breather. Simons III says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Simons III had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ghandi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simons III Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ghandi's back instead.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Simons III.
Well Ghandi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
