Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bean pole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Edgar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bean pole!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts pole as he jumps to the side.
Frankie Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
pole looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Edgar shoots and misses
and pole finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

pole scores with a takedown into Edgar's guard.
Edgar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Edgar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

pole drops back looking for a leg! Edgar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Edgar manages to kick pole off! pole jumps back into Edgar's guard.

pole drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Edgar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now pole has Edgar in his guard.

pole has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edgar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edgar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

pole has an active guard here but Edgar has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edgar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

pole is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Edgar pulls his head out easily.
Edgar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
pole on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

pole looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
pole looks gassed!
pole tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Edgar passes the guard and advances to mount!
pole is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
pole throwing hammer fists to the chest of Edgar. What's that going to do exactly?
The referee warns pole that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
pole really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Edgar wants to control the pace but pole is squirming around nicely.
Edgar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. pole looks a forlorn figure.


pole is rocked!

Edgar working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. pole turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Edgar off and cradles pole's limp body as Edgar celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Frankie Edgar!
