Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andy LaPlaguea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conjo Barbetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Conjo Barbetti was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbetti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with LaPlaguea, pushing him back against the cage.
LaPlaguea goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barbetti prevents it.
LaPlaguea breaks from the clinch.
Barbetti closes the distance and clinches up with LaPlaguea, looking for a takedown. Barbetti pushes LaPlaguea against the cage but LaPlaguea circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
LaPlaguea fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice takedown defense from LaPlaguea. No joy for Barbetti on that attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Barbetti drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and LaPlaguea dives on top into guard.
Barbetti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but LaPlaguea can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close round but Conjo Barbetti will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Barbetti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barbetti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
LaPlaguea is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Barbetti seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Barbetti or perhaps it was just good defense by LaPlaguea which made him look bad.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
