Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Khalil Malla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Ice Men (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malla moves away from the strike by Ice Men.
Malla is looking to clinch but Ice Men is avoiding it.
Ice Men shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Malla as he jumps to the side.
The fighters circling - Ice Men throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Malla circles away from the clinch attempt.
Malla uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ice Men.
Ice Men tries to clinch up but Malla circles away and keeps his distance.

Ice Men rushes Malla and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Malla tries to pull guard but Ice Men holds him up against the cage and eventually Malla drops back down to his feet.

Ice Men breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ice Men tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ice Men is looking to clinch.

Malla gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ice Men to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Malla pulls Ice Men in close to prevent any damage.

Malla pushes Ice Men off and gets back to his feet.
Ice Men motions for Malla to come forward. Ice Men throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ice Men closes the distance and lands a one-two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malla shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ice Men counters with a stiff right hand.
Malla fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khalil Malla. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ice Men, right into the meat.
Malla avoids the body shot from Ice Men.
A jab from Ice Men misses.

Malla closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Malla seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Malla's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
