Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Cardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dan Cardy has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dan Cardy seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardy throws a head kick but Malone moves out of range.
Cardy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Malone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Malone looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Malone is looking to advance position but Cardy won't allow it.
Cardy wants to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malone shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cardy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Malone lands a nice short elbow.
Malone is working for a submission of some sort.
Cardy is not content to let Malone control the position.
Malone winds up and cracks Cardy with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Malone is trying to control the action in half guard but Cardy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's time! Cardy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cardy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Malone pulls his leg out and moves away.

Cardy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cardy pushes Malone away with a front kick.
Cardy tries for a takedown but Malone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Cardy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
