Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose has chosen Mama Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Derrick Rose! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Rose sprawls well. Nelson stands up from mount. Strange move. Nelson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rose to the mat! Rose manages to get full guard. Nelson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nelson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rose's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rose can do anything to dispel that myth. Rose wants to get back to full guard. Rose is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nelson trying to pass the guard but Rose defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rose is trying to maintain the position but Nelson is very close to passing his half guard. Rose wants to improve his position but Nelson is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose is not content to let Nelson control the position. Rose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nelson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rose misses with a double jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nelson. Rose takes the fight into the clinch. Rose tries to break the clinch but Nelson is controlling the position. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nelson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rose tries to kick Nelson off but Nelson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nelson is looking to take a break and control but Rose is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rose tries to get to full guard but Nelson has control of the leg. Rose escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rose fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nelson manages to avoid it. Rose lands a really nice looking cross but Nelson seems unphased.

Rose throws a series of punches but Nelson avoids them all with ease. Rose works the jab nicely. Nelson shoots in for a double leg but Rose sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rose tries to bum rush Nelson with a series of wild strikes but Nelson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nelson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nelson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nelson wants to take a breather but Rose is having none of it. Nelson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rose doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nelson. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nelson is keen to just control but Rose is a slippery customer.

Rose tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nelson avoids it. Rose using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nelson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rose pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nelson fails with the takedown and Rose counters with a one-two to the body. Rose throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nelson. Rose misses with a two punch combination.
Rose looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range. Nelson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rose counters with a left to the body. A nice combination there by Rose.
And that's the end of the fight! Derrick Rose comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rose has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
