Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yosunaro Masashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Gailfus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Yosunaro Masashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Gailfus! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gailfus takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gailfus looks to land a combination but Masashi avoids it well. Masashi looks for the body kick but Gailfus saw that one coming. Gailfus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masashi tries to avoid it but Gailfus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masashi to the ground. Masashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gailfus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Masashi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gailfus tries to close the distance and clinch but Masashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Masashi scores with a one two! Gailfus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Gailfus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Gailfus escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masashi tries a low kick but Gailfus avoids it. A lazy body kick from Gailfus and Masashi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gailfus is looking to clinch but Masashi is avoiding it.
Masashi looks to throw a body kick and Gailfus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gailfus. Masashi wants to stand and escape but Gailfus is having none of it. Masashi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gailfus controls the pace. Gailfus pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Masashi is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gailfus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gailfus stands up and waves to Masashi to follow him. Gailfus walks into a left hand. Gailfus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Masashi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gailfus shoots in but Masashi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gailfus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Masashi did well to prevent Gailfus getting side control. Gailfus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Masashi's head. Gailfus performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Gailfus wants to work for an arm triangle but Masashi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gailfus trying to mount his opponent but Masashi defends it. Masashi is trying to stand up here but Gailfus is controlling him well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gailfus in particular looking to stall. Gailfus is looking to stall here but Masashi recovers full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Gailfus dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gailfus lands with a kick to the temple. Masashi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Masashi scores with a jab to the body. Gailfus shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Masashi defends it nicely. Gailfus fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masashi lands a high kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gailfus throws a lazy body kick and Masashi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gailfus's knee momentarily. Gailfus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Masashi is fending him off so far but Gailfus persists. Nope, Masashi circles away and we're back to standing. Yosunaro Masashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Gailfus. Gailfus is breathing heavily. Gailfus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Masashi as he jumps to the side. Masashi throws a nice head kick!
Masashi misses with a body kick. Gailfus tries to clinch but Masashi moves out of range. Masashi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gailfus's sensitive parts. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Masashi!
Gailfus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masashi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Masashi scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Masashi misses with a low kick as Gailfus jumps back. Gailfus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Masashi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gailfus breaks the clinch.
Masashi throws a low kick, looking for Gailfus's leg but Gailfus calmly moves out of range. Gailfus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Masashi paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gailfus shoots in for a double leg but Masashi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gailfus fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Gailfus with that takedown attempt. Gailfus has Masashi up against the cage in a clinch.
Gailfus can't find room to land a body shot as Masashi controls the action.
Masashi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gailfus avoids it. Gailfus jumps guard and drags Masashi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gailfus wants to get back to his feet but Masashi is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gailfus wants to improve his position but instead Masashi has moved into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gailfus is trying to stand.
Gailfus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yosunaro Masashi dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Masashi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Masashi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Gailfus moves in looking to clinch but Masashi pushes him off. Gailfus is looking to clinch. Gailfus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gailfus fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Masashi, pushing him back against the cage. Gailfus can't get the takedown.
Gailfus has Masashi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Masashi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gailfus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Masashi smiles and moves away.
Yosunaro Masashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Gailfus. Gailfus wants to clinch. Gailfus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gailfus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Masashi. Gailfus throws a body kick the misses and Masashi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Masashi throws out a leg kick but Gailfus moves out of range and Masashi only half commits. Gailfus wants to clinch. Gailfus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gailfus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gailfus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Masashi wants to get back to his feet but Gailfus is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gailfus gets to his feet. Masashi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Yosunaro Masashi is winning the standup battle so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masashi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Masashi keeps the fight on the outside. Gailfus falls off balance throwing a combination
and Masashi counters with a three punch combo that has Gailfus backing up. Gailfus nods at Masashi to acknowledge the strikes. Gailfus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Masashi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gailfus. John Gailfus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Masashi. Gailfus wants to clinch up but Masashi keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gailfus swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Masashi counters with a slapping leg kick. Gailfus is looking to clinch but Masashi is avoiding it.
Masashi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gailfus. Gailfus blocks a leg kick. Masashi lands a nice shot to the body.
Gailfus tries to clinch up but Masashi circles away and keeps his distance. Masashi throws a right and a left that both miss. Yosunaro Masashi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gailfus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Yosunaro Masashi showed his dominance in that final round. I think Masashi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
