Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Somebody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Somebody has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Somebody!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Don Ho!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ho displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Ho dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Somebody takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Somebody checks the leg kick nicely there.
Ho thows a body shot but no joy.
Ho connects with a right hand. Somebody shakes it off.
Ho lands a body shot.
A combination from Ho does no damage.
Somebody takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ho bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Somebody's head.
Somebody shoots in for a takedown but Ho shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ho throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Somebody.
A left lands for Ho.
A nice combination there by Ho.
Somebody closes the distance and clinches up with Ho, looking for a takedown. Somebody pushes Ho against the cage but Ho circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Somebody. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ho lands an overhand right.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Somebody takes a jab right on the kisser.
Don Ho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Somebody checks the leg kick.
Ho tests Somebody's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Somebody tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Somebody somewhat.

Somebody drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Somebody trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ho looking to hit a scissor sweep but Somebody is one step ahead there.
Somebody throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ho works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ho is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Somebody stops Ho from standing up.

Ho is trying to control the position but Somebody postures up.
Ho looking to hit a scissor sweep but Somebody is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ho catches Somebody with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ho is looking to chop away at Somebody's legs.
Somebody shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ho sprawls well. Ho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Somebody gets slowly back to his feet.
Somebody ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ho throws a head kick that misses.
Ho comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Somebody fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ho has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Somebody avoids the body shot from Ho.
Ho attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Good standup being displayed there by Ho as he connects with a hook.
Ho is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Somebody had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Ho misses with a body shot.
Ho stuffs the takedown.
Ho misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Somebody.
Ho throws a body punch but Somebody moves out of range.
Ho with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Ho is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ho connects with a good right hand that stumbles Somebody. Somebody circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ho tests Somebody's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Somebody on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Somebody shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ho as he jumps to the side.
Ho tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ho waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Somebody.
Ho is looking to chop away at Somebody's legs.
Somebody checks a low kick from Ho.

A cross from Ho lands.
Ho tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Somebody was well out of range. Poor timing from Ho.
Nice sprawl there from Ho as Somebody shoots in.
Ho lands with a nice body punch.

Ho gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Somebody to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Somebody is breathing heavily.
Somebody forces his way into half guard.
Somebody throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Somebody wants to control but Ho is keeping him busy.
Ho wants to control but Somebody is keeping busy.
Ho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Somebody. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ho wants to get back to full guard.
Somebody passes the guard and advances to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Somebody closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Somebody lands in his opponent's guard.
Somebody trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ho looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Somebody trying to control the position from guard on top but Ho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Somebody drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Somebody jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Somebody passes Ho's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Somebody works his foot free and advances to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Somebody is working for a guillotine from mount but Ho frees his head quite easily.
Ho is working to get back to half guard.

Ho regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Somebody is looking for a kimura here.
Ho is looking for a sweep. Somebody is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Somebody not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Somebody is working for a submission of some sort.

Somebody is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ho can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ho trying to control but Somebody postures up.
Somebody passes to side control.
Ho tries to buck Somebody off but Somebody is having none of it.
Somebody trying to control the position but Ho is working away.
Somebody tries to move to mount but Ho blocks the move with his legs.
Ho manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ho is refusing to be controlled, as Somebody sits in half guard.
Somebody wants to pass to mount but Ho is defending the position.
Ho wants to improve his position but Somebody is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Somebody throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ho uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Somebody has time to react.
Ho fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Somebody on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ho misses with a leg kick.
Ho throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ho throws a shot to the body.
Ho throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Somebody on the side of the head.
Ho keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ho lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Somebody fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ho avoids it really well and circles away.
Ho throws a body punch but Somebody moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Somebody fails to land the takedown.
Somebody fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Somebody. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ho works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Somebody closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ho misses the shot to the body.
Ho scores with a crisp jab that stopped Somebody in his tracks.
Ho clobbers Somebody with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ho throws a chopping leg kick but Somebody manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ho bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Somebody's head backwards.
Somebody checks a low kick from Ho.
Ho throws a body punch but Somebody moves out of range.
Ho throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Somebody will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Ho is refusing to be controlled, as Somebody sits in half guard.
Ho is trying to control but can't.

Somebody looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Somebody passes the guard and advances to mount!

Ho defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Somebody.
Ho is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Somebody has taken his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Somebody is looking for the choke from the back position but Ho is controlling his hands well.
Ho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Somebody working for the choke.
Somebody gets his hands free as Ho looks to control.
Ho rolls, trying to escape but Somebody keeps control of the position.
Joe Somebody overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Somebody is looking for the choke from the back position but Ho is controlling his hands well.
Ho looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
I really don't envy Ho right now.
Ho just trying to survive but Somebody is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Somebody has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Ho is in real trouble here. Somebody gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Ho is tapping out! Somebody wins by rear naked choke!
