Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aiden Marx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Silva! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marx thuds a left hand into Silva's body. Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Marx scores with a nice head shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marx connects with a body shot. Silva on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Fabricio Silva has been cut. Silva misses with a double jab.
Silva looks gassed! Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Marx is pushing Silva's head away, looking to escape. Silva manages to hold on to the position though. Silva tries to stand but Marx controls the position and pulls Silva into his guard. Marx wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marx works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Marx takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Marx moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Silva goes down! Can Marx finish him!? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marx stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Marx drops Silva with a big left hand and mounts him. Silva is in big trouble! Marx stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Silva takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marx waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Silva. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Silva to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Silva is rocked! Marx stands up and waves to Silva to follow him. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Marx finish him? Marx misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses. Marx lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That has opened up Fabricio Silva's cut even more. Marx throws a left that rocks Silva and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Marx dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Silva regain composure!
Silva is rocked! Marx stands up. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Marx finish him? Marx throws an overhand right that has Silva reeling! Marx follows up with more punches and Silva is out cold! This one is all over!
