Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dior May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genji Takiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes to the cage accompanied by Gucci - I'm So Tired of You. Takiya has chosen Boris - Rattlesnake as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dior May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Genji Takiya!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Takiya.
May dodges the punch combination from Takiya.
May takes a swing at Takiya's ribcage but misses.
Takiya throws a combination but it was largely blocked by May.
Dior May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

May bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
May misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
May is looking to take a break and control but Takiya is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
An elbow from May crashes against the mat.
Takiya on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
May passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Takiya!
May trying to control but Takiya is having none of it.

May with a couple of short strikes.
Takiya is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
May controlling from mount.
May seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Takiya for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

May looking to ground and pound but Takiya is blocking nicely.
May controlling the pace for now.
May trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dior May just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
May blocks the body kick.
May shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Takiya sprawls well. Takiya wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. May gets slowly back to his feet.
May has a takedown stuffed.
Takiya scores with a head kick.
May lands with a cross.
Takiya misses with the combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Takiya takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
May shoots for a double leg takedown but Takiya sprawls well. He's pushed May's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dior May. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Takiya slips under a jab.
Nice body kick there by Takiya.
Takiya misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

May scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takiya can do anything to dispel that myth.
May trying to advance position but Takiya counters by regaining guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dior May dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


May fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Takiya will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

May drives through with a takedown into guard.
May controls from within his opponent's guard.
May missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
May trying to control the position from guard on top but Takiya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
May controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
May stops Takiya from standing up.
May wants to control from the top but Takiya keeps moving.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dior May just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
May lands a nice looking body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Takiya moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Takiya looks to land a combination but May avoids it well.
Takiya is breathing heavily.
Takiya misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
May shoots in for a double leg but Takiya sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Genji Takiya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
May connects with a single shot there.
Takiya throws the left hand but May avoids the punch easily.

May shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than May was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

May is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Takiya has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Takiya!
May is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Takiya trying to stand up but can't free himself from May's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
May seems keen to control Takiya's posture.
May tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Takiya trying to control but May is working from the bottom.
Takiya is looking to work some ground and pound but May has wrist control.
May has his hands on Takiya's head, controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
May scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
May takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Takiya throws a head kick that misses.
Takiya pulls out of a head kick attempt.
May takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
May scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takiya doesn't seem bothered though.

May looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Takiya!
May controlling from the full mount.
May has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dior May dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



May shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.


Takiya is rocked!
May looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Takiya with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Takiya is still in real trouble! Can May finish him?
May is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Takiya is hurt! He's hurt bad - May fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Takiya from any more punishment! Congratulations to May! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dior May!
