Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Moriarty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moriarty's entrance music is Broken Dreams. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Moriarty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Big Boss!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moriarty closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Boss did well to prevent Moriarty getting side control.

Boss actively working from the bottom here.
Moriarty is looking to advance position but Boss won't allow it.
Moriarty looks to land a strike but Boss avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Moriarty avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Moriarty is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Boss looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Boss is looking for a triangle but Moriarty pushes his legs off easily.
Moriarty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boss swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Moriarty looking to sit in guard and control but Boss gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Moriarty wants to stand and escape but Boss is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boss is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Boss postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Moriarty is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Boss, into his guard.

Moriarty avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Moriarty trying to control but Boss is working from the bottom.

Boss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Moriarty slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Boss is looking for a sweep.
Moriarty taking a break here but Boss is having none of it and regains half guard.

Boss is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Moriarty pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, if Moriarty is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Big Boss dominated that round.

Moriarty goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Moriarty throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Big Boss has been cut.

Moriarty has managed to clinch.
Boss is working for takedown but Moriarty is calmly controlling the position for now.

Moriarty is trying to control. Boss wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Moriarty is looking to stall here but Boss recovers full guard.

Boss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Moriarty defends it easily.

Boss is looking for a triangle here but Moriarty uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Moriarty wants to stand but Boss has his arm trapped.

Boss is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moriarty is looking to take a break and control but Boss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Boss looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Moriarty looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boss gets full guard.
Boss keeping full guard, as Moriarty tries to pass.

Boss looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Big Boss has got the better of the ground game so far.

Boss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moriarty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Boss is tightening it up a little... Moriarty has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Moriarty reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Moriarty taps out! nice BJJ there by Boss!
