Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Derek Hui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Riddick!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riddick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hui pinned against the cage. Hui gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hui displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Riddick.
Riddick shoots in for a takedown but Hui shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Derek Hui has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Riddick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Riddick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Riddick fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hui uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Richard Riddick has been cut.
Hui looks to clinch
and Riddick makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A big right from Hui misses.

Hui leaves Riddick with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Riddick closes the distance and clinches.
Riddick has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A short body shot lands from Riddick as the two fighters clinch.
Riddick manages to pull guard.
Hui drops back, looking for a kneebar! Riddick looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Riddick looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Riddick!
Riddick working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Riddick prevents Hui from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riddick is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hui looks calm but he's in trouble here. Riddick gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hui is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Riddick lets go of the hold and Hui can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Richard Riddick!
