PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bank Tabbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen 'Be Myself' by Charlie Brown Jr. as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tabbot but Tabbot pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tabbot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.
Tabbot misses with a knee to the head.

Tabbot breaks from the clinch.

and Tabbot counters with a nice low kick that buckles Silva's knee momentarily.
Silva dodges the punch combination from Tabbot.

Silva tries for a takedown but Tabbot manages to get underhooks.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tabbot will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

You get the feeling that Tabbot really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Silva wants to pass the guard but Tabbot is keeping the position.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Tabbot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tabbot manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Tabbot's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Diego Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Tabbot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tabbot won't be happy with that.

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva tries to advance to mount but can't.
Tabbot is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Silva wants to control but Tabbot is keeping him busy.

Silva has hold of Tabbot's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tabbot seems comfortable defending it but Silva has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tabbot is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tabbot is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Silva couldn't care less - he's delighted!
