Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Tyler will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marshall Mathers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Tyler!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers tries to score with a low kick but Tyler moves his leg out of the way.
Mathers lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mathers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tyler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mathers.
Mathers misses with a wild body shot.
Mathers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mathers misses with a head kick.
Mathers misses with a leg kick.
Tyler chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mathers can pounce on him.
Mathers jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mathers throws out a loose jab but Tyler uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mathers throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tyler.
Mathers misses with a few strikes there.
A swing and a miss from Mathers.
Mathers scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Mathers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mathers pushes Tyler away with a front kick.
Marshall Mathers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tyler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mathers.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mathers. Tyler does a little dance to reset his feet.

Tyler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mathers circles away.
Tyler blocks a head kick by Mathers.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Tyler checks a leg kick.
Tyler moves away from the strike by Mathers.
Mathers tries to land a leg kick but Tyler saw it coming and moves away.
Mathers scores with a head kick.
Mathers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tyler uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mathers.
Mathers throws the kick towards the body but Tyler avoids it.
Mathers tries a head kick but it misses.
Tyler shoots in and drives through. Mathers sprawls well.
Mathers is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Tyler's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Mathers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tyler. That did some damage!
Mathers throws the kick towards the body but Tyler avoids it.
Mathers thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tyler shoots in looking for a takedown. Mathers tries to sprawl out of it but Tyler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mathers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Marshall Mathers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.

Tyler avoids the head kick by Mathers.
Tyler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mathers throws out the jab.

Tyler checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Mathers throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mathers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tyler's calf.
Tyler looks for a takedown but Mathers sprawls well.

Tyler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tyler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tyler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tyler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tyler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mathers throws a series of strikes that have Tyler backpedaling.


It looks like Jake Tyler has been cut.
Mathers connects with a single shot there.
Tyler blocks the body kick.
Mathers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mathers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mathers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mathers feints and then cracks Tyler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tyler down.

Mathers throws a leg kick which misses Tyler's front leg but catches the back leg as Tyler tries to avoid it.
Tyler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mathers throws out the jab.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mathers.
Mathers throws a head kick but Tyler moves out of range.
Mathers throws a hook to the side of Tyler's head but Tyler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mathers cracks Tyler with a good jab.
Mathers throws a push kick but Tyler slaps the foot to one side.
Tyler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mathers tries to avoid it but Tyler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mathers to the ground. Mathers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mathers just misses with a punch to the body.
Jake Tyler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mathers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mathers wants it to stay on the feet.
Mathers leaves Tyler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Marshall Mathers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.

Tyler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mathers is looking for a sweep. Tyler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mathers is trying to control but can't.
Mathers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tyler on the ground.

Tyler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mathers has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tyler is trying to control. Mathers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mathers is defending against the submission attempts here by Tyler.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyler is breathing heavily.
Mathers is refusing to be controlled, as Tyler sits in half guard.

Tyler is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mathers sees it coming and defends easily.
Mathers wants to improve his position but Tyler is controlling well.

Tyler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mathers wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mathers fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tyler on the side of the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mathers scoring well with a low kick there.
Mathers throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A clash of legs there as Tyler blocks the low kick.
Mathers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Tyler moves out of range of the leg kick from Mathers.
Tyler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tyler there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mathers lands a glancing blow to the side of Tyler's head.
Tyler tries for a takedown but Mathers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mathers.
An inside leg kick lands from Mathers.
Tyler slips a jab and a cross from Mathers.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall Mathers dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Jake Tyler's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Tyler takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mathers misses with a looping left.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mathers.
Mathers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mathers feints and then cracks Tyler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tyler down.

Mathers throws a head kick but Tyler moves out of range.

Tyler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mathers is trying to defend but Tyler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tyler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mathers tries to get to full guard but Tyler has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mathers is refusing to be controlled, as Tyler sits in half guard.
Tyler perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Tyler is looking for a kimura here.
Mathers wants to improve his position but Tyler is controlling well.

Tyler seems to be working for a kimura but Mathers defends the submission attempt.
Mathers desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Tyler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mathers is just riding it out for now. Tyler eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Tyler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tyler trying to control the action but Mathers is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mathers keeping control of the position.
Jake Tyler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tyler prevents Mathers from improving his position.

I would just about give that final round to Jake Tyler.
I think Mathers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
