Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Card Holder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holder kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Death March. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Card Holder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willy Samson! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samson slips a jab from Holder. Samson lands with a hook. Holder tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Holder feints and as Samson raises his hands in defense, Holder changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Holder trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Samson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Holder escapes and throws Samson's legs to the side, diving into side control! Holder in side control, throwing shots but Samson defends. Samson tries to buck Holder off but Holder is having none of it. Holder is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Samson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Holder tries for a kimura but Samson is defending well. Samson tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Holder thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holder working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Holder trying to control the position but Samson is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Holder tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Holder working away. Samson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Samson wants to control but Holder postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Holder misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Holder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Samson misses the jab. Samson staying out of range there. Holder closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Holder lands in his opponent's guard. Samson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holder defends well. Holder stopping the sweep attempt from Samson. Samson tries for a takedown but Holder circles away easily and Holder counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Holder throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Samson won't be happy about that! Holder is working for a guillotine from mount but Samson frees his head quite easily.
Samson is in all sorts of trouble here.

Samson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Holder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Holder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Holder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Samson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Holder has managed to get both his arms back between Samson's legs - danger averted. Samson is trying to keep Holder in close.

Holder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Samson is tightening it up a little... Holder has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Holder reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Holder taps out! nice BJJ there by Samson!
